Job summary

IREN is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Childress, TX to drive scheduling efficiency and strengthen our preventive maintenance program across data center and HPC infrastructure. You will coordinate with technicians, engineers, and vendors, ensuring uptime and safety while optimizing asset life and part availability.

The role emphasizes detailed PM/TPM planning, work instruction creation, and continuous improvement in a mission-critical, 100% renewable energy environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability roles in mission critical environments.
• Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP, eMaint, Fiix, ServiceNow).
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with preventive, predictive, and reliability centered maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs; MS Projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for all critical infrastructure.
• Create detailed work plans including labor, materials, tools, safety procedures, and sequencing.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and technicians to ensure safe, uptime‑friendly execution.
• Maintain asset data, PM schedules, and work order histories in the CMMS.
• Review completed work orders for accuracy and quality.
• Forecast spare parts requirements to support high‑availability operations.
• Collaborate with vendors/contractors to schedule onsite work and verify scope.
• Prepare maintenance plans, risk assessments, and MOP documentation.
• Analyze maintenance trends and failure data to improve reliability.

This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance activities that protect power, cooling, network, and compute systems from unplanned downtime. By delivering precise planning, accurate work execution, and seamless vendor coordination, the Maintenance Planner enables safe operations, minimizes risk, and supports the facility’s ability to meet performance, capacity, and availability commitments. Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for all critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, mechanical, and IT support systems.
• Create detailed work plans, including labor requirements, materials, spare parts, tools, safety procedures, and job sequencing.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and data center technicians to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely and with minimal impact to uptime.
• Maintain accurate asset data, PM schedules, and work order histories within the CMMS.
• Review completed work orders for accuracy, completeness, and quality of execution.
• Forecast and manage spare parts requirements, ensuring critical components are available to support high ‑ availability operations.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to schedule onsite work, verify scope, and ensure compliance with site standards and security protocols.
• Support change management processes by preparing maintenance plans, risk assessments, and method ‑ of ‑ procedure (MOP) documentation.
• Analyze maintenance trends, equipment performance, and failure data to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding upcoming maintenance, potential risks, and operational impacts.
• Assisting developing and standardizing maintenance processes, workflows, and documentation across the facility.
