Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking an E&I Maintenance Planner to develop safe, efficient work plans for electrical and instrumentation maintenance. You will evaluate requests, define scope, identify labor and materials, and coordinate schedules with maintenance, operations, and contractors to ensure timely, cost-effective outages and ongoing reliability.

Competenze

  • Three to five years of relevant electrical, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, planning, or scheduling experience.
  • Technical certification in electrical, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

The Opportunity:

The E&I Maintenance Planner develops safe, efficient, and executable work plans for electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities. This role evaluates work requests, defines job scope, identifies labor, materials, procedures, permits, and safety requirements, and coordinates schedules through completion. The position maintains equipment bills of materials and critical spare-parts availability, supports cost and backlog management, plans and coordinates annual outage work, and provides rotating weekend on-call coverage for the E&I department approximately once every six weeks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review, prioritize, and clarify E&I work requests to ensure scope, urgency, and business needs are understood.
  • Develop detailed job plans that identify labor, materials, tools, procedures, permits, special equipment, estimated duration, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Build and maintain daily, weekly and outage schedules in coordination with maintenance, operations, engineering, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor scheduled work through completion, resolve planning constraints, document follow-up work, and support continuous improvement of job plans.
  • Maintain an accurate, prioritized work-order backlog and communicate schedule status, delays, risks, and resource needs.
  • Track maintenance costs, commitments, and monthly spending; prepare forecasts and communicate variances.
  • Maintain equipment bills of materials, parts records, and recommended stocking levels for critical E&I spares.
  • Plan and coordinate annual outage work, including scope development, material readiness, sequencing, contractor coordination, and execution support.
  • Provide field support during equipment breakdowns and other urgent maintenance events as needed.
  • Participate in the E&I department’s rotating weekend on-call schedule, approximately once every six weeks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of safe, reliable, and cost-effective mill operations.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance practices, equipment, terminology, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to translate maintenance needs into complete, accurate, and executable work plans and schedules.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt plans when operating conditions change.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, JDE or a comparable computerized maintenance management system, and equipment‑specific software.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three to five years of relevant electrical, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, planning, or scheduling experience.
  • Technical certification in electrical, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
