Job summary

RHI Magnesita N.V. is seeking a Maintenance Planner to develop, coordinate, and optimize maintenance activities ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.

This role bridges maintenance execution and production needs by creating detailed work plans, scheduling resources, and ensuring safety and quality standards. The candidate will review daily notifications, plan outages, organize planning meetings, and coordinate with various teams to secure contractors and manage parts.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with SAP PM and CMMS for maintenance planning.
  • Able to write detailed, safe maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Strong problem solving and process optimization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.

Responsibilities

  • Review notifications daily and assign planner responsibility.
  • Plan maintenance work for upcoming outages and outages scheduling.
  • Create and update detailed job plans with scope, steps, parts, safety, and tools.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Arrange contractor support, quotes, and goods receipts as needed.

Job description

Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations. This role bridges the gap between maintenance execution and production needs by creating detailed work plans, scheduling resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safe Practices are used by Maintenance employees and promote a safe work environment.
  • Review notifications daily, assigning planner responsible. Forward non-planned jobs to Maintenance Scheduler for scheduling.
  • Manage and update all jobs from your Worklist.
  • Plan maintenance work for upcoming outages.
  • Order parts/material when needed. Adding to BOM’s daily.
  • Organize maintenance planning meetings with production departments.
  • Coordinate repair prioritization with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Secure contractors to complete onsite work when needed. Obtaining quotes, issuing reqs., and completing Goods Receipts.
  • Contractor check-ins when planned jobs are being executed by contractors.
  • Create Standard Job Plans to refer back to quickly.
  • Willing to work OT, weekends and off shift schedule as needed to support the operations.
  • Properly plan Maintenance jobs by providing job plan requirements below:
    • Purpose/Scope of the work order.
    • Job step sequence (operations).
    • Physical verification of parts/material on hand, signed out and kitted/palletized.
    • Safety related issues. (LOTO, special PPE requirements, special hazards, required permits, etc.)
    • Manpower needed. Total job duration.
    • Procedures needed.
    • Equipment drawings.
    • Specifications and tolerances (Torque requirements, wear limits)
    • Special tools and Equipment (Cranes, Lifts, Special hand tools)
    • Testing requirements.
Required Skills
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently navigate the CMMS (SAP) and continue to assist with deploying full utilization of the system.
  • Knowledge of maintenance activities and tasks in order to affectively and efficiently compose detailed job plans.
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve to ensure optimal equipment production and reduce downtime.
  • Clear and concise written & verbal communication skills, ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to make critical decisions in a fast paced, production-oriented work environment. Ability to work well under pressure is vital to the success of this role.
  • Ability to keep a cool head and rationalize situations to ensure good conflict resolution.
  • Capable of completing work in a timely manner.
  • Promotes positive team environment.
Desired Experience
  • 3–5 years in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proficiency with SAP PM
  • Strong knowledge of plant equipment and process. Rotary kilns, Conveyors, Screens, mixers, presses, etc.
  • Perform all work in accordance with RHI Magnesita’s Health and Safety policies.
  • Adhere to all EHS and IMS policies and job expectations as specified in the Job Descriptions of the Persons Responsible for IMS, RHI Magnesita NAM Regional Safety Rules, Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities, and Safety Rules and Responsibilities documents.
