Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Tennessee is seeking a Maintenance Technician to contribute to the maintenance department by implementing, expanding, and maintaining the Predictive Maintenance Program (PDM). You will work with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate repairs and reduce unplanned downtime, track spare parts in the CMMS, and manage inventories.

Qualifications

  • Technical School/1 Year College, and/or 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Specialized skills required are computer programming, complex mechanical systems, trending reports, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintains, monitors, and updates the Maintenance CMMS to assure it is accurate and functional.
  • Works closely with Craftsmen and Techs to assign Work Orders for work to be completed.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to schedule time for machine repairs prior to breakdowns to reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Reporting- must be able to develop and present reports concerning the progression of the PDM Program.
  • Maintains adequate records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Initiates Purchase Orders for repair parts or spare parts as needed, as well as initiating orders for parts to upgrade existing equipment.

POSITION PURPOSE
  • Contributes to the effective operation of the Maintenance Department by implementation, expansion, and upkeep of the Predictive Maintenance Program (PDM).
  • Works in conjunction with Maintenance Manager to coordinate repairs on equipment as needed for the reduction of unplanned downtime.
  • Track and manage spare part usage in the CMMS
  • Unpacks, inventories, and stock items
  • Performs a variety of complex troubleshooting duties involving refrigeration, electrical, mechanical or other specialized areas.

  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting food safety requirements.

  • Serves as backup for the Maintenance Supervisor.
