Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks an experienced piping technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot diverse piping systems across our naval facilities. The role includes layout work from prints and requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates should have substantial plumbing/piping experience, be able to obtain a secret clearance, and be prepared for overtime or emergency support when needed in Connecticut-based operations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or 2+ years of related technical experience.
• 5+ years of plumbing/piping experience in industrial and/or commercial environments.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot multiple piping systems (steam, inert gas, low/high pressure air, water, propane, oxygen, plumbing and fire protection).
• Troubleshoot piping systems including condensate pumping systems.
• Layout piping systems with or without prints.
• Work independently and in a team; overtime or emergency support as needed.

Job description

Applicant must be proficient in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiple piping systems (steam, inert gas, low and high pressure air, pure water, potable water, propane, oxygen, plumbing and fire protection systems). Applicant must be able to troubleshoot piping system including but not limited to condensate pumping systems. Applicant will be required to layout piping systems with or without prints. Applicant should be able to work independently and within a team environment. Applicant must be willing to work overtime, support emergency situations.
