Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Maintenance Pipefitter to install, maintain and troubleshoot complex piping systems across steam, gas and water networks. The role requires the ability to layout systems from prints, work independently or in teams, and readiness to handle overtime and emergencies.

Qualified applicants will have 5+ years of plumbing/piping experience and must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. P2/S2 licenses are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot piping systems (steam, inert gas, water, propane, oxygen, fire protection).
• Layout piping systems from prints or without prints; work independently or in a team.
• Be available for overtime and support emergency situations; troubleshoot condensate pumping systems as needed.

Overview

Applicant must be proficient in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiple piping systems (steam, inert gas, low and high pressure air, pure water, potable water, propane, oxygen, plumbing and fire protection systems). Applicant must be able to troubleshoot piping system including but not limited to condensate pumping systems. Applicant will be required to layout piping systems with or without prints. Applicant should be able to work independently and within a team environment. Applicant must be willing to work overtime, support emergency situations.
