Job summary

Messer is seeking a Maintenance Operations Tech I to ensure a safe, efficient and reliable chemical processing facility. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, support plant reliability, and use SAP CMMS for work orders and documentation.

The role requires physical capability, ability to read P&IDs/PFDs, and operation of material handling equipment, with opportunities for growth in a global industrial gases company.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include HS Diploma or GED and possibly a technical certificate.
• 3 years of relevant experience in process plant operations, maintenance, or reliability.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and climb/handle loads up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, efficient and reliable operation of a chemical process facility in compliance with regulations.
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Support plant reliability and inventory management.
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors).
• Assist in shutdowns/startups and plant state changes.
• Use CMMS/SAP for work orders and reporting.
