Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a Maintenance Operator Trainee for the Warren County Power Station to learn to operate and maintain critical power generation equipment.

You will perform inspections, operate daily routines, tag equipment for maintenance, and assist with valve operations and logbook entries while in a 56-month development program.

The role requires shift work (12 hours), travel to Richmond for training, and a starting hourly rate of 30.98 with a 5% location supplement.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy is looking to fill a vacancy for Maintenance Operator Trainee at our Warren County Power Station.

As a Maintenance Operator Trainee, you will be required to operate and maintain power station equipment. This includes:

• Inspecting, operating and monitoring equipment used in the production of electricity;
• Performing daily routine operations;
• Isolating/tagging equipment for maintenance;
• Valve operations;
• Making entries into computer-based logbooks;
• Performing maintenance on major industrial equipment such as pumps, turbines, and power station mechanical equipment;
• Performing maintenance on batteries, motors, switchgear, motor operated valves, and other power station electrical equipment.

You will be placed in a 56-month standardized skills development program at the appropriate rate of pay based upon your previous experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills and competencies.

The starting pay rate is $30.98 per hour and increases through each step in the 56-month development program. Due the location, this position has an additional 5% wage supplement.

The position entails two 12-hour work shifts, one scheduled during daytime hours and the other in the evening. Successful candidates must be available to travel and train in Richmond, Virginia for up to nine (9) week periods of time.

Required

Preferred, but not required, skills & experience

Industrial /commercial electrical experience is a plus.Journeyman craftsman experience; and/or Candidates who have power plant/power generation operational or maintenance experience.

Candidates with a minimum of three years experience in operating and maintaining major industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, turbines and electrical switchgear in an industrial environment (e.g. shipyard, military, manufacturing, or power station)
