Job summary

Crystal Creamery in Modesto, California, is hiring Plant Maintenance Mechanics to keep production running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, processing, and packaging equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on plant machinery and systems.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience is preferred.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability.
• Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience is preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Position Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and bend throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working in wet, refrigerated, and high-noise manufacturing environments.
• Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing.
