Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Technician for the weekend night shift (Thu.–Sun., 7:00pm–7:00am) in Gallatin, TN. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery with a strong safety culture aimed at ZERO HARM.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and welding, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and accuracy in measurements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent – technical training is a plus.
• Must have 3 years of previous work experience in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to complete forms and understand written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Stable employment history.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanical Technician – Weekend Night Shift

Thur., Fri., Sat., Sun. – 7:00pm – 7:00am

Position Snapshot

A maintenance technician will install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment. We have a high commitment to safety and are looking to expand our maintenance department with others who feel strongly about achieving a ZERO HARM work environment.

Night Shift – Thurs – Sun., 7:00pm – 7:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

The work environment for this position is an industrial manufacturing plant, with employees regularly exposed to physical and environmental challenges. Workers are continuously (70–100% of the time) around moving and potentially dangerous machinery and are subject to loud noise levels that require hearing protection. Frequently (30–70% of the time), they may encounter heat from both weather and industrial processes, as well as cold weather conditions. Occasionally (up to 30% of the time), the environment may include wet or humid conditions, slippery floors or ramps, vibration from equipment, exposure to outside weather, dust, electrical shock hazards, and contact with oil, grease, or solvents. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols are essential in maintaining a safe and productive workspace in this industrial setting.
