Job summary

AMP is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Technician in Commerce City, CO to manage the full maintenance of the facility, repair, and preventive PM on heavy equipment like balers and sort lines. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires coordinating with operations while ensuring safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years on similar machinery, and experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems and motors. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certifications are highly desired.
• 3+ years of direct experience maintaining same or similar machinery in a production or processing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting pneumatic systems and hydraulic equipment, circuits and components.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics; capable of motor and gearbox replacements and VFD troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair processing and support systems per regulations.
• Resolve technical issues during shifts and identify solutions.
• Improve equipment reliability via preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Promote safety and hazard identification and risk control.
• Coordinate with Plant Manager and operations; support CMMS entries.
• Act as emergency coordinator for the plant and follow safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

AMP is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Technician in Commerce City, CO.

A maintenance mechanic is responsible for the entire operating facility, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PM), as well as special projects. In addition, the maintenance mechanic is responsible for maintaining all heavy equipment in the facility including balers, sort line, loaders, forklifts. This will include regularly scheduled PM as well as minor repairs on all facility equipment. Inspect the building, grounds, and equipment. The maintenance mechanic works under the supervision of the Plant Manager.

As a Maintenance Mechanic Technician, you will work to:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all processing and support systems to specifications consistent with all Federal and State fire, safety and environmental regulations.
• Resolve technical issues presented throughout a shift, investigate and identify a solution.
• Increase equipment reliability through ownership of continuous improvement and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate and lead by example a commitment to safe behavior and to making the plant a safer place to work. Support/drive hazard identification, risk assessments, and risk controls efforts.
• Coordinate with Plant Manager and operations closely
• Support preoperative and postoperative inspection of the equipment and ensure necessary repairs are entered and actioned within the CMMS.
• Act as emergency coordinator for the plant.
• Adheres to and ensures all company, and regulatory safety standards and rules are followed
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

• Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification. Technical certifications are highly desired.
• 3 (or more) years of direct experience maintaining same or similar machinery, in a production or processing environment
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic equipment, circuits, and components
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
• Motor and Gearbox replacements
• VFD trouble shooting

Preferred:

• Experience with industrial controls (valves, sensors, actuators, control systems, Electro Hydraulic Experience, conveyor (tracking), rollers.
• Experience selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD and servo systems.

Salary & Compensation Information: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour
