Maintenance Mechanic & Safety Coordinator

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, managing the Maintenance Budget, and leading projects aimed at increasing productivity, reducing costs, and expanding capacity. The role also involves administering the Safety program at Vyse.

Compensation

Base pay range: $37.50/hr - $38.00/hr. Actual pay will depend on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on pneumatic systems, conveyor belts, air compressors, motors, bearings, and other equipment.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance programs.
• Train production personnel in routine maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes.
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
• Coordinate installation of new equipment.
• Administer and improve the Vyse safety program, including OSHA 30 and LOTO.
• Handle maintenance requests and correspondence efficiently.
• Perform tasks in compliance with cGMP regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical field; Bachelor's preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in plant maintenance, with experience in electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting, and programming of PLCs.
• 3 years of technical experience with air compressors, motors, bearings, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
• Ability to operate forklifts and perform minor plumbing and HVAC troubleshooting.

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, in person at Schiller Park, IL 60176.
• Experience in EHS preferred.
