Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a manufacturing client in Barkhamsted, CT. The role supports daily operations by maintaining production machinery, mechanical systems, and facilities to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor 10).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities.
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, heating, and air conditioning.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, including Epicor 10.
• Forklift operation skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• High attention to detail and flexibility in changing work environments.
• Strong English communication skills; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery using equipment manuals, diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot, repair, program, and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Maintain mechanical systems, including heating, cooling, and air-conditioning equipment.
• Complete repairs to facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Perform general maintenance tasks involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and cleaning.
• Repair and adjust locks on doors, cabinets, and closets.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment and setting up or breaking down rooms.
• Communicate maintenance needs and equipment status with coworkers across shifts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
