Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Coal Center, PA facility to support a fast-paced packaging operation. You will maintain electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conduct diagnostics and perform repairs to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include installing, starting up and shutting down equipment per safety procedures, keeping maintenance records, and contributing to a culture of safety, continuous improvement and professional growth within

Qualifications

• Must be able to maintain electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and restoration.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Support operation of a fast-paced packaging facility; maintain, test, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist troubleshooting; document maintenance records.

Maintenance Mechanic – Coal Center, PA

The Opportunity

• Support the operation of a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. Must be able to conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Must be able to apply knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restore in all areas of Manufacturing.


• Primary duties include the install, start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements; inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved and maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. The job also includes performing preventative maintenance functions as directed, assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and to perform other duties as required.

What You Need To Succeed

• Ability to maintain various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform other duties as assigned.


• Ability to work safely, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all safety regulations.


• A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.


• Computer experience/operation and PLC programming.


• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as required.


• High school diploma or equivalent.
