Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel to keep all equipment in top working order, ensuring only quality products are released to the customer.
- Troubleshoot, remove and replace electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optical systems.
- Pre‑inspect parts or equipment to be repaired, determine necessary parts, supplies, tools and shop equipment, and communicate with the Maintenance Manager.
- Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
- Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
- Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.
- Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to review deficiencies.
- Accurately log all work performed.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Apply plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, and personal protective equipment requirements when working on equipment.
- Perform other duties and/or jobs as assigned.
Required Experience, Skills, & Abilities
- Work off a ladder or in high or cramped spaces.
- Diagnose and repair plastic injection molding equipment and accessories.
- Troubleshoot industrial motors, starters, controls and panels.
- High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good hand and eye coordination; dexterity in using hand tools.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to sit, bend, climb, twist, crouch, reach and lower intermittently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interpret problems and receive work assignments.
- Achieve and maintain certified electrical worker status including certified CPR.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years’ experience with maintenance.
- Experience with injection molding machines.
- Understanding of hydraulics.
- Electrical background.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of PLC.
- Capability to operate a forklift safely and professionally.
- Welding and fabrication skills as needed.
