Job summary

Mondelez International has job opportunities for a Full-Time Maintenance Mechanic at the Nabisco/Mondelez plant located in Chicago, IL, which operates in a continuous improvement environment.

Schedule: Full Schedule Flexibility; availability to work all shifts is required. Benefits begin the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Wellness Program.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Test, install, repair, or replace plant equipment and machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Perform basic mechanical work, including sheet metal layout, fabrication, welding, and pipefitting.
  • Document work and communicate activities to personnel.
  • Study manuals, schematics, and drawings to stay current on equipment.
  • Utilize fabrication shop equipment such as drill press, welder, band saw, etc.
  • Follow all policies and procedures, including Safety, Quality, and GMPs.
  • Possess knowledge in pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, machining, electrical work, hand tools, and welding.
  • Operate forklifts, manlifts, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Collaborate with electrical, boiler room, and operations personnel.
  • Report work through SAP system.
  • Support initiatives like HACCP, QCMS, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Completed an approved Apprenticeship or Training program.
  • Ability to learn and apply Continuous Improvement tools (IL6S).
  • Physical ability to climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Knowledge of TPM and SAP.
  • Ability to work well in a team with limited supervision.
  • Problem-solving skills and practical solutions ability.
Physical Demands:
  • Climb steps and work from ladders/lifts.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and maintain balance.
  • Work in varying temperatures and crawl into equipment.
