Job Description: Maintenance Mechanic - Level II

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Maintains, inspects, repairs, and services MHE equipment within manufacturers' guidelines and specifications.
  2. Provides leadership and/or guidance to less experienced mechanics on more complex assignments as needed.
  3. Schedules routine maintenance on all equipment and performs work on assigned material handling equipment for operation.
  4. Identifies, orders, and replaces parts necessary to complete repairs for routine maintenance.
  5. Completes data entry for work orders and maintenance timesheets accurately and promptly.
  6. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, adhering to quality standards and safety procedures.
  7. Performs additional maintenance duties as necessary.
  8. Fosters the MSC Culture within the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
  9. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus. Minimum of five years of related experience, with extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and systems diagnostics related to material handling equipment (primarily Raymond, Crown & Hyser).

SKILLS:
  • Compliance with DOT regulated item disposal where required.
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel/Word).
  • Ability to obtain MSC license to operate warehouse vehicles within specified timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of conveyor systems, controls, plumbing, and HVAC is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift items up to 75 pounds and operate at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Prolonged standing and bending to lift items from the floor and racks.
MISCELLANEOUS:
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
Proficiency in:
  • HVAC, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment Repair, Troubleshooting (Electrical & Mechanical), Soldering, Machine Safety Inspections, and Facilities Maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
