What We Need

The Maintenance Mechanic Lead will direct and coordinate all reliability and maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational potential is realized for plant operation. This includes leading, directing, supporting, and training site maintenance technicians.

Shift Details

Hours for this role are 5:00 pm – 5:30 am. Night shift differential is $1.50 per hour. Our maintenance team follows a 2‑2‑3, 12‑hour shift schedule providing a consistent routine for work‑life balance.

Sample 2‑2‑3 Shift Schedule

• Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday – Off Wednesday, Thursday – Work Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Week 2: Off Monday, Tuesday – Work Wednesday, Thursday – Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday

What You Will Do

• Complete all tasks while strictly adhering to all required industry guidelines including but not limited to SQF, Food Safety, Plant Safety, and audits.
• Provide leadership and guidance to all maintenance team members on all shifts.
• Work within the maintenance team to accurately communicate and document events by utilizing the CMMS system.
• Oversee and train mechanics and provide support where needed.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of machine upgrades and extended downtime repairs.
• Train all mechanics on new equipment according to the standard operating procedures.
• Design, fabricate, and install new equipment and enhance existing equipment through process improvement and upgrades.
• Facilitate finding root cause of problems or issues and complete necessary documentation.
• Ensure the proper utilization of the CMMS system for preventative maintenance activities, work orders, and part issuance with timely and accurate data entry.
• Perform and direct preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance of equipment including cleaning, inspecting, diagnosing, replacement testing, and process improvements with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Lead OPMs. Plan and schedule day‑to‑day and weekend work for team members. Verify work is completed through the CMMS system platform with parts, time, and notes.
• Identify and report needs for major repairs to the appropriate level of management, enter data into the CMMS system, and assist with coordination of work with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Lead OPMs.
• Calibrate and maintain electronics and instrumentation for process control devices.
• Ensure company metrics are met and support team and company goals.
• Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices, including wearing personal protective equipment.
• Embod the GFTW mentality and effort by attending required meetings and bridging collaboration between all departments.
• Work with direct leadership to address all personnel issues and adhere to the proper escalation process.
• Bring a continuous growth zero‑loss mindset and develop knowledge of all new technologies introduced to the site.
• Fill in for the maintenance planner role when the maintenance planner is out; create purchase requisitions.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two‑year associate degree, licensing, or equivalent trade school technical training in a related field is highly preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of related experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting required.
• Prior experience mentoring and leading junior members of a team is highly preferred.
• Experience driving process improvement, RCCA, development of preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring proper documentation in all processes is highly preferred.

Location: Macedon, NY, USA. Pay: $41.00 – $46.50 per hour.
