Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair citrus juice, oil and production equipment including pumps, motors, separators, evaporators, conveyors and filtration systems.
• Maintain plant utility and power systems including compressors, boilers and wastewater/ NH3 systems.
• Fabricate parts and piping as required for production.
• Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication per the PM schedule.
• Alert Maintenance Manager to any non-standard condition or parts requirements.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE; maintain hygiene and food safety practices.

Hourly Rate: $34.18 (Overtime and weekends may be required)

We are hiring for a 2nd Shift position.

Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager and aligns with the Maintenance Lead. The mechanic is primarily responsible for ensuring that production equipment is at maximum uptime and in good repair. Must have strong troubleshooting skills, a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot and work on control circuits and motor control circuits such as VFD's and starters.

Primary Responsibilities

• Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
• Maintain test and troubleshoot citrus juice, oil and production equipment to include: pumps, motors, separators, evaporators, conveyers, elevators and ultra - filtration systems.
• Maintain, test and troubleshoot plant utility and power systems to include compressors, boilers, wastewater systems and NH3 systems.
• Fabricate parts and production piping equipment as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment per the P.M. schedule.
• Alert Maintenance Manager to any non-standard condition or parts requirements.
• Follow all safety rules and practices to include wearing all personal protective equipment.
• Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
• Assist general contractors as directed with the installation of new or modified equipment.
• Act professionally toward other employees, customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude.
• Follow any other instructions of the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 0-12 Months demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
• Five (5) years industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Post high school education in maintenance related courses is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure a must.
• 90% of the time in plant repairing equipment. This may require bending and climbing stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
• 10% in the maintenance shop; fabricating parts or equipment.
• May be required to lift up to 50lbs on occasion.
