Job summary

Qnity’s Tralee Park site in Newark, DE is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. If you are an outgoing team player, then this is the role for you.

The role requires a 12-hour fixed shift (Railroad Schedule) including weekends, with duties spanning preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and on‑site repairs of production equipment. A safety‑mocused approach and ability to read schematics are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred.
• Degree or Certificate from an accredited college or technical school in the Mechanical field or at least two years demonstrated equivalent abilities.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit a safety conscious approach to work.
• Work in Process Safety Management (PSM) rated and non‑PSM facilities and adhere to safety principles and policies.
• Read and understand schematics and P&ID’s.
• Troubleshoot and maintain various mechanical machines and process equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment following manuals and specs.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled and on‑call repairs of production equipment.
• Perform diversified duties including electrical and mechanical to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test and adjust.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and facilities.
• Use hand and power tools, meters, welding, cutting and material handling equipment.
• Acquire a powered equipment license such as forklift if needed.

The Tralee Park facility produces high performance Kalrez® seals in a discrete part manufacturing environment in accordance with customer requirements. For more than 30 years, Kalrez® parts have demonstrated cost‑effective solutions for high‑performance sealing applications. Primary markets are transportation, aerospace, electronics, healthcare, industrial and consumer markets.

12 hour fixed Shift (Railroad Schedule) which includes working weekends.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Exhibit a safety conscious approach to work
• Work in PSM (Process Safety Management) rated and non‑PSM facilities and strictly adhere to safety principles and policies as a condition of employment.
• Read and understand schematics and P&ID’s.
• Be able to troubleshoot and maintain various mechanical machines and process equipment
• Complete preventive maintenance requirements on manufacturing equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled and on‑call repairs of production equipment
• Perform highly diversified duties including electrical and mechanical to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, welding, cutting and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Acquire a powered equipment (such as a forklift) license if needed

Minimum Education And Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED.
• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Journeyman or Master Electrical License preferred
• Possess a degree or Certificate from an accredited college or technical school in the Mechanical field or have at least two year demonstrated equivalent abilities in this skill.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard‑hat, respirator, protective eyewear, face shields, etc.
• Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, reach overhead, climb stairs, and work in elevated heights
• Willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime including weekends/holidays when required
