Job description

NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A $7,000 SIGN ON BONUS!

To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act.

Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs preventive and routine corrective maintenance tasks to ensure that systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained safely and efficiently at a multi-custody female correctional facility. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing at the journey level in a mechanical trade with experience in additional trades as needed.
  2. Maintaining systems within the correctional facility and support buildings safely and efficiently.
  3. Conducting ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs of water/piping systems, including valves, domestic and non-potable water, heating/cooling piping, and boilers.
  4. Replacing and repairing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, water heaters, and related equipment.
  5. Supervising skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor, including offenders, to complete tasks and support other staff members.

Note: As of January 1, 2025, the salary range will be $39,671 - $69,426, following new adjustments approved by the State Human Resources Commission.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits, working hours from Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with potential for additional hours as needed.
