Columbia Sportswear is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic III for our Portland Distribution Center. You will maintain and repair conveyors and related systems, ensuring reliable operation and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and proactive problem solving to support peak distribution. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of warehouse equipment maintenance, strong safety knowledge, and solid tool and computer skills.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols including hazard communication and lockout/tagout.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in a physical environment.
• Basic computer literacy and record-keeping.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities.
• Complete tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager safely and on time.
• Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility tasks.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Foster open communication across departments to support operations.

Location:7000 N Leadbetter Rd, Portland, OR 97203

Schedule:

• Weekend Shift:Saturday/Sunday, 5:00 AM -- 5:30 PM + Monday/Tuesday, 5:50 AM -- 2:20 PM -$1.50/hour shift differential

ABOUT THE ROLE

As aMaintenance Mechanic IIIat our Portland Distribution Center, you'll play a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly. You'll maintain and repair a variety of equipment, with a focus on conveyor and sorter systems, ensuring everything from motors to lighting and plumbing is in top shape.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse and office equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities.
• Complete tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager in a safe and timely manner.
• Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility-related tasks.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Foster open, positive communication across departments to support smooth operations.

• 5-7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.

• Intermediate computer skills.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the facility.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and a strong mechanical aptitude.
