Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to operate, repair and maintain a variety of machinery and equipment in Alaska. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, rolling stock repairs, and troubleshooting with precision tools.

The role may involve supervising a small team, and requires strong safety adherence and the ability to procure parts as needed. Alaska-based site with industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Six years of mechanic experience with rolling stock repair and related skills.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
• Certifications in ICS 100/200 and trade licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates, repairs, and maintains machinery including engines, motors, hydraulics and conveyors.
• Performs preventive maintenance per schedule and performs rolling stock repairs.
• Troubleshoots issues using measuring instruments and follows safety procedures.
• May supervise a small team or shift and initiates parts purchases.

Responsibilities

Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will operate, repair and maintain a variety of machinery and mechanical equipment including engines, motors, pneumatic and conveyor systems, gears, hydraulics and other machinery

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance according to schedule and direction.
• Perform maintenance as needed on Rolling Stock equipment.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and applying precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery.
• Uses hand and power tools in a safe manner.
• Learns and follows all safety procedures and Trident Protocols.
• Performs regular inspections of key components and operations, notifies supervisors of issues or deviation from procedures.
• Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examining parts for defects and root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains rolling stock equipment.
• May supervise a small team or shift.
• Initiates purchase orders for parts and machinery as needed.
• Possesses specific industry skill sets at a technician level.
• Other dues as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of six years’ experience working as a mechanic, specific developed skill sets such as rolling stock repair and service, diesel engine maintenance, HVAC, plumbing or pipefitting, etc.
• HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

• ICS 100 & 200 certification
• Technical trades school degree in industry related field
• Fall protection and confined space entry qualifications
• Gas and diesel engine repair and troubleshooting skills
• Heavy equipment operation qualifications
• Trade specific licenses such as plumbing, water treatment, boiler operations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

On the jobsite, this role will occasionally work in cramped spaces. Subject to long periods of standing and kneeling may be required. Maintenance Mechanics may be exposed to dirt, dust, debris, or fumes. While working outside, you may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather. In the facilities, you are often subject to noisy machinery.

This role may be required to work at great heights, such as when working on site.
