Summary:
This is advanced or supervisory work involving the repair and maintenance of hospital buildings, grounds, vehicles, facilities, equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical devices. The position functions as the lead on a maintenance team, responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning work tasks, assessing performance, and assisting with reviews.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct hospital fire drills, maintain fire prevention and extinguishing equipment, and respond to fire emergencies.
2. Maintain all hospital buildings and facilities on-site and at other locations to ensure safety and comfort, complying with hospital policies.
3. Perform operational tests and maintenance on the laundry chute system and emergency stairwells to meet JCAHO, Life Safety Code, and hospital standards.
4. Perform emergency repairs on people movers as needed.
5. Receive work orders, schedule tasks, review work in progress and upon completion for quality and safety standards. Lead and supervise maintenance team members.
6. Repair and maintain life safety equipment, including vacuum pumps, emergency generators, beds, stretchers, and other hospital devices. Maintain the facility-wide automatic door system and computerized tube system.
7. Select and repair materials such as windows, doors, roofing, and flooring to match existing structures.
8. Supervise or perform skilled maintenance and repairs of buildings, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Valid NC Driver's license if a driver

Professional Experience Requirements: Five (5) years in complex mechanical or building trades
