Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic III in Fort Wayne, IN, to maintain and repair industrial and production equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. You will perform repairs, calibrations, and welding as needed, while ensuring safety and equipment reliability.

You will also document work orders, train junior staff, and uphold hygiene and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

A Maintenance Mechanic III typically refers to a skilled worker who specializesin maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in various industries withhigher level of experience.

Role and Activity

• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance,and repairs on various types of machinery and equipment, including industrialmachines, production equipment, HVAC systems, and more.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issuesto identify the root causes of problems and implement effective solutions.
• Repair and Replacement: Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements offaulty components, such as motors, pumps, bearings, belts, gears, sensors,and wiring.
• Welding and Fabrication: Utilize welding and fabrication skills to repairor modify equipment as needed.
• Calibration: Calibrate and test equipment to ensure it meets quality andsafety standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, includingwork orders, equipment history, and inventory of spare parts.
• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe workingenvironment.
• Training: Provide guidance and training to less experienced maintenancestaff.

WORK ENVIRONEMENT

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in awet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and aroundmechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.

The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potentialallergens.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors thatare considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited toskill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and otherbusiness and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is nottypical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for theirrole, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances ofeach case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between$33.67-$34.95 an hour.
