Job summary

Lakeside Book Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work independently and with plant staff to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks on production equipment. You will troubleshoot and repair plant machinery, assist with electrical problems, and fabricate parts as needed.

Responsibilities include processing work orders, following SOPs, and ensuring safety policies are followed. The role requires teamwork and the ability to work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• 2 Years’ machine repair and maintenance experience - preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Technical training with a concentration in machine mechanics strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• High levels of attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant machinery and production equipment such as valves, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic hydraulics and boilers
• Troubleshoot, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters etc. as needed
• Enter work orders in department software tracking program
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments
• Operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools, lathes, mills and other tools as necessary following standard operating procedures, (SOPs)
• Fabricate parts and modify new and existing equipment
• Repair and/or troubleshoot electrical problems
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned
