Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support general maintenance across UofL Health buildings, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing tasks. Under supervision, you will correct minor plumbing and electrical issues, assist skilled workers, and participate in preventive maintenance using a data-based work order system.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2-5 years of general hospital maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, with HVAC or Plumbing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Apprentice program is preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of general maintenance experience required (hospital maintenance preferred).
• EPA Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide a safe campus and perform general maintenance.
• Repair minor plumbing problems (valves, drains, faucets, showers) and minor electrical issues (ballasts, receptacles, switches).
• Assist other skilled workers and perform maintenance tasks as requested.
• Dismantle equipment for cleaning, replacement or repair.
• Maintain parts, materials and supplies; follow HIPAA/privacy requirements.

Job Description:

Provides general maintenance all UofL Health buildings. Requires multiple skills including mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Must demonstrate excellent team skills. Assist with routine maintenance of department.

Essential Functions:

• Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, this position will provide a safe campus, including:

• Corrects and repairs minor plumbing problems, to include flush valve, drain stoppage, faucet and shower repair and replacement

• Corrects med gas valves leaks by rebuilding front bodies as required

• Correct and repair minor electrical problems such as ballast, receptacle and light switches

• Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as requested

• Dismantles equipment to clean, replace and/or repair

Other Functions:

• Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as needed

• Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment utilizing a data-based work order management system

• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times

• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct

• Performs other duties as assigned
