Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to repair, overhaul, maintain, install and modify PCC equipment and facilities. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, tool use, and collaboration with other departments to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum and related systems, maintain tools, and participate in hazardous materials handling training as required.

Qualifications

• Four years journey-level maintenance experience in plumbing, sheet metal, machinist, auto or welding with heating/venting and air conditioning, and carpentry preferred.
• Two years of trade school or apprenticeship in an applicable skill set preferred.
• Equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on tech cards, work orders, repair manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Valid driver's license is required to drive PCC vehicles.

Principal Accountabilities

Maintenance and Repair

Objective: to maintain manufacturing and facilities' equipment in proper, efficient working order.

Essential Job Functions

• Identifies and implements preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
• Repairs, overhauls, maintains, installs and fabricates modifications to equipment and facilities as required.
• Troubleshoots vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction heating, lubrication, abrasive and pressure cleaning systems and their components.
• Maintains machine tools and equipment used for maintenance.

Safety

Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

Essential Job Functions

• Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
• Safely operates all equipment and tools.
• Identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
• May be required to work with hazardous waste.
• Completes logs and records.

• Trains less skilled personnel as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Advanced skills as demonstrated by four years journey level work using a skill set found in Journey Maintenance work: plumbing, sheet metal, machinist, auto or welding skill sets with heating/venting and air conditioning, and carpentry preferred

AND

• Two years of trade school or apprenticeship training in an applicable skill set is preferred

OR

• An equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.

Qualification

• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on tech cards, work orders, repair manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and in a team effectively.
• Ability to assist other departments through planning and technical assistance processes.
• Valid driver's license is required to drive PCC vehicles.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
