Maintenance Mechanic II, Law Center Facilities - Georgetown University Law Center

Requirements

Pay Range: $22.79 - $27.85 hourly. Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, and university needs.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic II ensures a safe, comfortable, and clean environment by performing preventive and maintenance trade work on building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVACR, carpentry, painting, and snow removal. Responsibilities include:

  1. General Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and repair building systems; develop skills in installation, troubleshooting, and repair; plan work, use tools safely, and maintain a clean work environment; report deficiencies and assist contractors.
  2. Emergency Response: Perform snow removal, respond to emergencies, and understand safety procedures to ensure community safety.
  3. Other Duties: Drive university vehicles, work extended hours, and perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • 6 years of building maintenance experience
  • Vocational or technical training or equivalent
  • Universal CFC certification
  • Valid driver’s license in VA, MD, or DC and qualification to meet university driving policies
  • Willing to adhere to safety and OSHA standards

The physical demands include lifting at least 50 lbs, working on scaffolds or ladders over 12 feet, and using hand and power tools.
