Maintenance Mechanic II

Hiring Immediately

Hazleton, PA

Compensation

• Starting pay rate $29.98 per hour - $1 differential for evening shift

Available Shift: Nights (4:30pm to 2:pm) Mon - Thurs

Key Job Requirements

• Diagnose and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with minimum supervision using schematics, manuals and drawings. Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical and electrical problems and have a strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies.
• Identify faulty parts and provide proper nomenclature in requisition so spares or replacements can be ordered.
• Know what and where spare parts are in the storerooms and observe store room withdrawal and return procedures.
• General working knowledge of machine shop equipment.
• Team-oriented with leadership qualities capable of leading co-workers in assigned tasks.
• Maintain necessary records and established maintenance procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Responsible for additional specific duties related to each shift as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
• Other duties as necessary.

Technical Competencies

Administrative: Demonstrates ability to accurately post data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems.

Operate Equipment:

• Ability to operate motorized equipment and other peripheral equipment safely and efficiently as required.
• Demonstrates ability to utilize standard hand tools.
• Ability to operate basic machine shop equipment.

Maintenance/Repair:

• Demonstrates advanced mechanical aptitude and abilities.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of production technological methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities.

Education & Experience

• Three to five years of experience in a related field.
• Mechanical pretest to employment.
• High school diploma/equivalent required.
• Completion of a vocational or trade school curriculum from an authorized school with a concentration in electro-mechanical courses desired.
• Must be able to read and use precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings.
• Must be able to pass multi-choice with handwritten section test.

ADA – Essential Functions

• Work 8, 10 and/or 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Climb.
• Heed safety warnings, devices and alarms.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Possess an adequate ability to do problem solving and establish cause and effect relationships in office and/or manufacturing environment.
