Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to support preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building systems. You will work with the Engineering Manager to diagnose issues and ensure safe, comfortable care for staff and patients.

You will perform a variety of skilled tasks including repairs, preventive maintenance, and order fulfillment while documenting records and handling routine electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work.

Qualifications

• 1 year of maintenance experience in a large commercial, industrial or healthcare facility.
• Experience with electrical, HVAC and plant operations preferred.
• General maintenance, modification, renovation and interior construction experience is favored.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance including repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment.
• Execute work orders and respond to trouble calls promptly.
• Document and maintain facility records accurately.
• Perform routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
• Assist in ordering parts and supplies for maintenance needs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components. Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you will diagnose problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients.

• You will perform a variety of skilled maintenance, including: repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities


• You will perform preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment


• You will execute miscellaneous work orders and answers trouble calls


• You will accurately document and maintain records for the facility


• You will perform routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance


• You will assist in order parts and supplied needed for maintenance

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• 1 year experience in a large commercial industrial or health care facility as an electrician, HVAC and Plant Operator, or plumber with general and structural maintenance, modification, renovation and interior construction Preferred


• Previous experience in general maintenance in a hospital or similar institution– preferred

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent


• Technical, Vocational or other equivalent education–preferred

Certifications

• Licensed or certified in HVAC, Electrical, Plant Operations or Maintenance field– preferred
