Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the facility’s mechanical equipment, utility systems, buildings, and exterior grounds. This role also assists with renovations and performs general maintenance to help ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews information regarding maintenance activities and outstanding issues from the previous shift.
- Evaluates and prioritizes maintenance requests based on urgency and operational needs.
- Takes appropriate action to resolve maintenance issues or coordinates additional support when necessary.
- Prepares and protects interior and exterior surfaces, trim, and fixtures before applying paint, stain, or other finishes.
- Constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard using carpentry hand and power tools.
- Repairs, replaces, adjusts, lubricates, and cleans equipment requiring service or included in the preventive maintenance program.
- Performs groundskeeping duties, including sweeping pavement, raking leaves, shoveling snow, and spreading sand or salt.
- Rebuilds or repairs mechanical and electrical components of malfunctioning systems and equipment.
- Provides backup support across maintenance trades, including emergency courier services and coverage during employee absences.
- Responds promptly to maintenance concerns, assesses the situation, and completes the work necessary to resolve the issue.
- Assists with general cleanup following storms and severe weather events.
- Maintains safe, clean, and organized work areas.
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health.
- Performs other duties consistent with the responsibilities of this role.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Maine driver’s license required.
- One to three years of related maintenance experience preferred.

Comp Range:
$21.55 - $29.68
