POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Maintenance Mechanic II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of mechanical machinery, including the design and manufacturing of certain machine components.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $29.93/hr. - $35/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Inspect, test, adjust, maintain, and repair all physical plant machinery, perform preventive machine maintenance, and complete necessary maintenance documentation
  • Interface with other departments to ensure timely completion of repairs and routine maintenance
  • Help monitor the equipment, safety and overall operation of the department
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
  • Ensure that necessary machine parts are available by checking inventory stock levels

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using a personal computer
  • Proven maintenance experience, familiarity using power tools including saws, grinders, mills
  • Skill in the care and use of the tools and equipment used in the trades involved
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, devices to remove/replace defective parts
  • Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved

WHAT WE PREFER

  • 1+ years’ experience in machine maintenance work or in a related trade
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
