Maintenance Mechanic I - Full Time - Days

Under the general direction of the Group Leader and/or direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic performs a variety of building maintenance and repairs on all kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and air conditioning units.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Provide general mechanical services in repairing of hospital machinery.
  • Building maintenance and repair tasks of a skilled or semi-skilled nature
  • Ability to comprehend construction drawings and prints
  • Understands filing system and participates in keeping system in order for departmental use
  • Ability to properly estimatelabor hours and materials for project work. Assists Engineering Supervisors in finalizing estimated project costs.
  • Properly fills out purchase requisitions for materials and includes area materials are to be allocated to. Calls vendor for pricing and researches most cost effective choice
  • Participates in keeping track of project labor and material costs during project, to assure project stays within estimate.
  • Performs semi-skilled or skilled Carpentry, plumping, electrical, locksmith, HVAC, and painting work
  • Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • High school, trade school, or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in specialized field
