Mercy is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic I to support hospital facilities in Dexter, MO. The role focuses on learning operations for movable equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, while delivering strong customer service on a busy campus.
You will gain hands-on experience across pneumatics, basic tools, and safety practices, with opportunities for advancement as you develop technical skills within a large healthcare system.
This is an entry level position requiring basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and movable equipment. It is recommended that incumbents attend one or two years of trade school to prepare them for advancement opportunities. The Maintenance Mechanic I position will allow the incumbent to learn operations for moveable equipment, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic tube systems. The position will also allow an opportunity to learn proper use of basic tools and equipment necessary to maintain and troubleshoot these systems. This position will support large hospital campuses. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe working environment and support an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy.

Hours/Schedule: Full-Time (40-hrs per week)
Shift: Days (745-1615)
Education: None
Licensure: Must maintain a valid drivers license
Experience: This is an entry level position requiring basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and movable equipment.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School.
Licensure: Electrical and/or Plumbing
Experience: 1 or more years working as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, educational, or industrial setting.
Certification/Registration: ASSE 6040 training for medical gas maintenance
