Job Description

Facilities maintenance is responsible for performing a broad range of duties related to the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment.

  • Observe, report, and perform repairs on equipment, furniture, buildings, and fixtures.
  • Perform facility repairs & maintenance including changing light fixtures & ballasts, patch & paint, tile work, light plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Handle handy person duties such as installing whiteboards, hanging pictures, minor furniture repairs, and rearrangements.
  • Support security efforts, badge allocation, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate lab infrastructure support and work with outside vendors like electricians and plumbers.
  • Assist Shipping & Receiving, perform minor custodial services, and handle internal movement of packages and furniture.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required; specialized vocational training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Current CA Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to work independently, weekends, and on-call as necessary.
  • Proficiency in English, basic office equipment, and computer skills (MS Office, internet, email).
