MISSION: To repair, overhaul, maintain, install, and modify equipment and facilities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other Responsibilities: Train less skilled personnel, perform additional tasks as directed, and participate in Hazardous Materials Spill Response if needed.
Equipment Used: Hand tools, forklift, welding equipment, hoist, motorized carts, drill press, torches, saws, measuring tools, trucks, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Training: On-the-job training, hazardous materials handling, forklift safety certification, and possibly hazardous waste management training.
Qualifications: At least four years of journey-level maintenance experience (e.g., plumbing, sheet metal, machining, welding) plus two years of trade school or apprenticeship, or equivalent. Ability to interpret technical documents, perform basic math, communicate effectively, work independently and in teams, hold a valid driver's license, and perform physical tasks.
Note: Maintenance Mechanic II must supply their own basic tools. May handle hazardous waste and work under U.S. export control laws, requiring U.S. Person status or appropriate authorization.
