Job Description
This position involves skilled work in repairing and maintaining buildings, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other mechanical equipment. The work includes performing various miscellaneous mechanical and building trades in general maintenance. Supervision may be exercised over a small team. The work is performed independently but reviewed during progress and upon completion.

Responsibilities
- Assist in compliance with federal airport operations, safety, certification, and security regulations under FAR Part 139 and TSA 1542.
- Conduct wildlife control techniques as necessary.
- Provide airfield maintenance responses to airport emergencies and incidents.
- Perform repairs and adjustments to plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical fixtures, doors, windows, locks, pumps, and small engines.
- Change ballast and transformers on light fixtures.
- Install and repair electrical circuits.
- Perform repairs on air-conditioning systems, including electrical checks and thermostat controls.
- Repair plumbing systems, including cast iron, PVC, CPVC, and copper.
- Repair ice machines and water coolers; replace compressors and recharge systems; inspect electrical equipment, motors, and fans.
- Operate maintenance equipment; perform minor repairs to building infrastructure and furniture; clean gutters and HVAC systems.
- Maintain office equipment and building components.
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Repair and maintain metal parts, buildings, boilers, and shelters.
- Perform skilled carpentry repairs using power saws and carpentry tools.
- Work overtime or alternate hours as necessary.
- This position is designated as Mission Critical.
Additional Functions
- Basic painting tasks such as surface preparation, priming, paint matching, and finish work.
- Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in building trades.
- Successful completion of training in gas and electric welding, brazing, soldering, and air conditioning.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and telephone number.
- Pass a ten-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
- Possible additional background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of maintenance practices, safety precautions, and tools.
- Skill in using maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and trucks.
- Ability to interpret sketches and plans.
- Maintain records and use electronic work order systems.
- Establish effective working relationships.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements
- Medium physical effort involving walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and fine motor skills.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions and hazards.
- Normal visual, auditory, and tactile abilities required.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and trucks.
