Job summary

CoorsTek in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to repair, install and maintain manufacturing and facility equipment. You’ll work in a team to meet department goals and keep your work area clean while following safety rules.

The role requires basic maintenance tasks, reading and acting on verbal and written instructions, and using hand and power tools. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required; one year of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• One year relevant experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions.
• Basic math, computer and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of machine repair, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, mill-wright and/or general maintenance.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment according to schedule.
• Inspect and repair equipment using hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with senior mechanics to tackle more complex repairs.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and wear PPE.
