Job description

Ensure production and processing equipment operates efficiently to meet production goals. Collaborate with production staff to develop machine requirements for new product introductions. With limited supervision and minimal technical guidance, maintain and repair plant machinery and mechanical equipment. Diagnose machine issues, dismantle and replace defective parts, reassemble machines, and make necessary adjustments for optimal operation. Perform intermediate troubleshooting and provide training to less experienced maintenance staff. Expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems is required.

Skills

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of production and processing equipment
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with systems like Spray Dry, and Extruder.
  • Proficient in repairing and replacing pumps, motors, augers, and hoists.
  • Experience using PM and work order systems for maintenance tracking.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical expertise, including knowledge of components up to 460 volts.
  • Ability to provide training and instruction to less experienced maintenance staff.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with engineering and other departments.
  • Lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Squatting, bending, stretching to reach into equipment.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders.

  • Conducted installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment, ensuring uptime and efficiency.
  • Replaced and repaired pumps, motors, augers, and hoists as part of routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Utilized PM and work order systems to schedule and track maintenance activities, optimizing equipment performance.
  • Provided advanced troubleshooting support, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED- Formal Technical Training a plus.
  • At Least 5 years of working in a maintenance role or related field.
  • Two years of technical training preferred.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and move around for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Physical Strength: Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Movement: Occasional climbing, stooping (bending body forward and down), crouching (bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine), reaching (extending arms and hands in any direction), and handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands).
