Job summary

The Masonic Home: Union City is seeking a maintenance technician to perform a wide range of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasks under supervision. You will complete work orders, assist the Lead HVAC Technician, and ensure quality work in line with industry standards.

Responsibilities include preventive and emergency maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, and hydronic systems, with a strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and teamwork. On-site work and shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance with electrical, plumbing and pumps.
• HVAC knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on facility equipment.
• Complete and document work orders; maintain inventory and records.
• Assist Lead HVAC Technician with repairs and PMs.
• Perform repairs in mechanical rooms including boilers, pumps, hydronic systems, and related equipment.
• Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.

Pay Range $29.00 - $36.00/hourlyJob SummaryWorks under the supervision of Facilities Manager and performs a wide variety of technical, mechanical, HVAC and electrical tasks in accordance with established maintenance policy and procedures.Expectations:Completes work orders and projects in a timely manner as determined by manager and consistent with Industry standards.Follows through on assigned work orders and projects to completion. Communicates to Manager any problems or issues that are encountered.Regularly identifies and reports necessary facility or equipment repairs to manager.Assist Lead HVAC Technician with repairs and P.M.s of all equipment.Takes care in completing quality work in a workmanlike manner consistent with Industry standards.Follows direction from managers and learns and follows instruction and policies established by managers and according to Industry standards.Flexible in covering other shifts schedules as needed.Performs repairs and P.M.s in all mechanical rooms which includes pumps, heat exchangers and all equipment pertaining to Hydronic heating and cooling.Repairs all leaking pipes in the hydronic system which include soldering, brazing or threaded pipes.Essential FunctionsReceives and follows maintenance schedule/instructions from supervisor as outlined in established maintenance procedures.Performs preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance to all facility equipment. Drives a forklift and pick-up truck as well as climbing ladders.Maintains, tests, inspects, and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment including low pressure boilers, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, fans, HVAC, electrical and pneumatic controls, emergency generators, heat pumps and their controlling devices.Prepares and installs various sizes of plumbing pipelines and fixtures.Performs window glazing, masonry, tiling and cement work.Maintains records of work performed by completing work orders; maintains inventory, materials on hand and materials used.Follows established safety procedures and precautions of the facility and in the performance of maintenance duties.Maintains good working relationships with co-workers.Communicates via radio.Able to use an electrical meter to trouble shoot equipment.Marginal RequirementsPerforms arc and gas welding. Installs electrical connections and other electrical work, designs and installs electrical and mechanical systems and modifications as needed.Performs general construction work, constructs building partitions, structures and structural building modifications.Trouble shoots equipment and performs repair on Pumps. Low pressure steam lines, Kitchen equipment and HVAC equipment.Minimum RequirementsMust have previous experience in building maintenance with working background to include some electrical, plumbing, and pumps. HVAC knowledge is desirable.
