Job summary

PastryStar in Laurel, MD is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Helper to support the maintenance and production teams on 2nd shift. This entry-level, hands-on role focuses on starting, monitoring, and assisting with production equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

You will work Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, learn basic repairs, follow GMP and safety procedures, and grow into more advanced maintenance roles as you gain experience.

• Mechanical aptitude or interest in hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down production machines according to procedures
• Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper performance
• Assist maintenance mechanics with basic repairs and preventive maintenance
• Respond to minor equipment issues and elevate when needed
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures (PPE, LOTO awareness)
• Support production needs and communicate issues to supervisors
• Follow all GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic Helper supports the maintenance and production teams by starting, monitoring, and assisting with production equipment. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to gain experience in food manufacturing and industrial maintenance.

2nd Shift: Monday – Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
