Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling in New Orleans, LA seeks a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to keep equipment running safely and efficiently through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. You\'ll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems, perform welding and fabrication, and install new parts while maintaining tool accountability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience with heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Must hold a valid driver\'s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy machinery and metal processing equipment.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment as needed.
• Install new machinery, parts, and components.
• Perform welding and fabrication work when required.
• Fuel, lubricate, and maintain operational readiness of all assigned equipment.
• Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Keep supervisors informed about equipment conditions, repairs, and parts needs.
• Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.
• Participate in general facility cleanup and other assigned duties.
