Maintenance Mechanic - GMP (Max $38/hr W2)

Contract

Industry: Pharma

The GMP Asset Mechanic is responsible for ensuring GMP production assets are properly evaluated, qualified, maintained, and documented. This includes reviewing equipment and room designs, executing qualification and maintenance activities, troubleshooting failures, implementing corrective and preventative actions, and developing maintenance plans, tasks, procedures, and schedules. The individual also recommends or procures spare parts and supervises external contractors, documenting activities as required.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on GMP assets, ensuring proper documentation.
  2. Troubleshoot equipment and system failures, determine root causes, and recommend or perform corrective and preventative actions.
  3. Manage and issue equipment tooling, ensuring proper maintenance, tracking, and availability.
  4. Coordinate and perform equipment relocations, ensuring no damage and full functionality before release.
  5. Support installation of new equipment, including FAT, SAT, qualification protocols, and maintenance planning.
  6. Work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, planning, QA, project management, laboratory, manufacturing, and other teams to schedule, perform, and document tasks.
  7. Develop task lists and maintenance plans based on experience, manuals, and manufacturer support.
  8. Create and review work orders, permits, change controls, SOPs, and specifications.
  9. Train personnel on equipment maintenance, setup, operation, and SOPs.
  10. Follow safety guidelines, participate in safety meetings, and report safety issues promptly.
  11. Assist in forecasting budget requirements and managing department expenses.
  12. Maintain professional and confidential relationships with internal customers, clients, and vendors.
  13. Comply with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  14. Provide 24-hour emergency support as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  15. Adhere to safety and sustainability standards, seeking clarification when unclear, and stopping work if necessary to maintain safety.
  16. Report safety, sustainability, and operational issues promptly and take corrective actions where possible.
