Summary

Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner.

Job Description
  • Take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and keep tools out of reach of children.
  • Possess basic mechanical knowledge and demonstrate competence with hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals is helpful.
  • Explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting; work with safety, morality, and departmental efficiency in mind.
  • Work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
  • Comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code.
  • Understand written and verbal communication; good written and oral skills required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.
  • Additional duties may include installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems (including boiler operations), maintaining campus grounds, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.
  • May require on-call duties as needed or directed by the department.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trade or vocational school preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in building systems preferred.
  • Depending on location, a valid driver’s license and good driving record may be required.
