Job summary

Newly Weds Foods is seeking a Third Shift Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production machinery, aiming to improve equipment reliability and glove quality. You will work as part of the maintenance team in a food production setting.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in maintenance technology and 1–5 years of manufacturing experience, with strong knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent education and training in maintenance technology.
• 1–5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of maintenance jargon, best practices, OSHA and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup and repair on assembly and packaging equipment.
• Execute preventative maintenance routines on production equipment.
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Complete projects promptly in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Record maintenance data and work orders for equipment performance.
• Provide on-call coverage as needed and communicate safety concerns to staff.

Job description

The Third Shift Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to all production machinery, striving to improve equipment reliability & glove quality, as part of the maintenance team.

Essential Functions

• Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment in a manner that complies with food safety regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment in a manner that complies with food safety regulations
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Complete all assigned projects as needed in a timely manner and in compliance with food safety regulations
• Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
• Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
• Complies with all OSHA and safety regulations when conducting work or repairs
• Accurately record maintenance data and as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders, time cards
• Demonstrate proper handling of tools and equipment
• Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in overtime assignments as required.
• Provide “on call” coverage as needed.
• Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
• 1-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs.

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
