Job summary

Peace River Citrus Products is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food-grade production equipment in our Bartow, FL facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and GMP, FDA, USDA requirements.

The role involves wiring and machinery work, documentation in CMMS, and collaboration with a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment in an industrial or food production environment.
  • PLC-controlled equipment experience preferred.
  • SAP or CMMS experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing devices, schematics, manuals, and operator feedback.
  • Install, align, adjust, and maintain production machinery and equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and potential failures; replace or repair components as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders in the EMaint management system.
  • Support machine changeovers, equipment installations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow maintenance schedules and communicate equipment issues or repair needs to supervisors.
  • Operate safely by following LOTO, confined space, Arc Flash, and other OSHA safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with GMP, FDA, USDA, and company food safety requirements.
  • Be available to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as business needs require.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.   • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
  • Welding and metal fabrication.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, saws).
  • Forklift certification.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
