Job Description
Position Purpose:
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of all plant machinery, equipment, building, and grounds.
Essential duties:
- Read mechanical drawings for layout work
- Cut and fit threaded pipe
- Weld steel and stainless steel using MIG, TIG, or Stick
- Read and understand basic electrical wiring schematics
- Use voltmeter and amp meter to perform electrical troubleshooting
- Perform basic operations of all plant equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic system components on plant equipment
- Troubleshoot electric and LPG/Gas forklift system components
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on plant equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment
- Follow 5S and safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, skills, experience:
- Meet all requirements from Maintenance Mechanic 1 & 2
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Moderate electrical aptitude
- Advanced mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use job-appropriate tools
- Proficiency in investigating, deducing, and recommending corrective actions for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Education / Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Effective communication skills, including presenting information, understanding and conveying detailed instructions, reading and writing correspondence
- Ability to apply common sense practices to carry out detailed oral or written instructions
- Ability to handle problems involving multiple variables in changing situations
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Wearing PPE such as eye and hearing protection is required
Work Environment:
- Exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles, noise levels moderate to loud, and temperature variations
