Catalent in Winchester, KY is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic, Encapsulation to maintain process and utility equipment and support installation, qualification and operation of new equipment. This role requires documentation of work and close communication with leadership. Shift: 6 PM - 6 AM 2-2-3; 100% onsite.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in pharma/food/chemical maintenance environment.
• Experience with PM programs, spare parts, and production systems.
• Able to troubleshoot PLC-based control systems using schematics.
• Able to read electrical drawings and use testing equipment.
• Capable of using hand and power tools and working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, qualification, and operation of new device assembly and fill processing suites and equipment.
• Set up encapsulation machines, manage spare parts, troubleshoot, and optimize performance.
• Assist in creating preventive maintenance procedures, spare parts lists, and update spares management database.
• Perform systematic preventive maintenance following industry best practices.
• Provide quick and effective repairs as needed.
• Communicate closely with Maintenance Leader and Operations Leader to ensure status is clear.
• Use electronic work order and calibration databases to document work performed.
• Perform other duties as required to support high performance.

About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.

Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic, Encapsulation to join our team. In this role, you will maintain process and utility equipment as well as building infrastructure related to manufacturing. You will support installation, qualification, and operation of new equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and provide effective repairs. This position requires close communication with leadership and accurate documentation of work performed.

The Role

• Support installation, qualification, and operation of new device assembly and fill processing suites and equipment

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
• 3+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing environment in a maintenance technician position
• Experience with electronic work order, preventive maintenance, and spare parts programs for production, utility, and building systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electronic control systems and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based systems using equipment schematics and specialized testing equipment
• Familiar with use and operation of test equipment such as digital voltmeter, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to use various electrical testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators
• Familiar with and able to read, understand, and use electrical drawings, system drawings, panel layout sheets, and wiring diagrams
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend for an extended period of time
• Specific vision requirements to inspect equipment and machinery
