Job summary

Upstate Niagara Cooperative is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform breakdown and preventative maintenance on production equipment. The role requires electrical/mechanical skills, PLC knowledge, and the ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

A GED or high school diploma is required, with 2–3 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred. The position includes a $26–$36 per hour pay range, full-time or weekend shifts, and a commitment to safety, quality,

Qualifications

GED or High School Diploma or equivalent.
Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree or comparable experience.
Experience in food manufacturing a plus.
Must operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual).
Experience with PLC, instruments and controls preferred.
2–3 years of mechanical field experience; boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors, HVAC a plus.

Responsibilities

Carry out tasks issued by the maintenance shift supervisor.
Troubleshoot support system problems using basic problem solving skills.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment assigned to you.
Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.
Record parts usage and ensure replenishment of on-hand balances.
Maintain safety and quality standards and proper disposal of parts.
